Infernape and Blaziken are standing right next to eachother. Blaziken was about to use brave bird to instantly faint infernape as fast as possible, but its speed boost ability can't be triggered because it was the first turn and even though infernape had the speed advantage, it didn't really matter because he used the priority move fake out.
Blaziken was hit Infernape hold on thanks to the focus sash and used close combat. The move was strong enough to get blazikens hp down to 0.
Infernape won. So let me say why infernape won that round. First fake out. That move was the key factor of winning for infernape, because without it the focus sash would have been activated too quickly.
Secondly the focus sash. You might think its cheating because blaziken didn't got a focus sash, but that would have been useless since fake out already damaged it and a focus sash would only work if the user has its max HP. Its abilities were useless and if you think about it his speed really didn't matter. First priority and then outsped by blaziken.

But it's a sad fact that Blaziken is just a better battler even without the mega because of its great ability combo with its broken moveset.
Blaziken does have a better movepool having acces to some of the most powerfull moves but i think that blaziken is stronger becuz movepool but also because its hidden ability is so good in battle and it has a really high base attack. Blaziken and Infernape are pretty similar, but there are a few key differences. Blaziken is more physically inclined while Infernape is both adept at using both physical moves and special moves. Infernape is much faster though. Blaziken has access to a few moves that Infernape can't learn, such as Reversal, Agility and it has the ability to Baton Pass.

Its only bad attributes is its slower speed, which can be compinsated by Baton Passing a speed boost to it or using agility on itself. It also has a great movepool. With moves such as Eathquake, it can be a threat to other fire types and it could easily OHKO alot of them do to its High attack stat. Blaziken overall is a good offensive pokemon if you take advantage of his strengths.
Infernape's best attribute is his speed. He can kill pokemon alot faster than blaziken and still has a decent movepool.
With access to Close Combat, fake out, calm mind, U-turn, mach punch and taunt it can create havoc in OU battles if used properly. Infernape is better in the OU environment. Well one thing Infernape MAY be better in competitive Battles or so people say, but for me, I don't do such things so it doesn't matter to me as much. But any way when I chose Torchic as my starter in Ruby I really enjoyed using it. Because of the Moves it learns as balanced. Chimchar didn't really give me that enjoyment like Torchic did.
